Can the food you choose play a role in chronic pain and symptom management? Join integrative physician, James N. Dillard, MD, DC, Lac., formally and uniquely trained in three health professions — acupuncture, chiropractic and conventional medicine — for a day of learning, discovery and innovative hands-on cooking in a supportive environment. Dr. Dillard will discuss evidence-based causes of chronic pain, explore pro-inflammatory dietary habits and explain how he helps patients navigate from illness to wellness with conventional and unconventional modalities.

Can diet prevent, heal, or help us manage cancer? Join Pamela Yee, MD, board certified in both internal and holistic medicine and MaryBeth Augustine, RD, cancer survivor and integrative nutrition expert for a day of learning, discovery and innovative hands-on cooking in a supportive environment. Dr Yee will explain how she combines conventional cancer treatment therapies with evidence-based unconventional modalities to treat patients living with cancer. From the same stage, MaryBeth Augustine will share how she personally managed cancer through diet, supplements and herbal remedies and how this journey influences her approach to working with clients living with cancer.

'One Pot Wonders' with Stefanie Bryn Sacks

Learn the basics of preparing simple healthy meals for your palate and your plate. Gain confidence in the kitchen as you explore the many creative ways to marry a variety of whole foods into nutritious and delicious one-pot meals (there will be a combination of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options). As always, we will work on knife skills, technique and address any questions or concerns throughout the class. This hands-on class will end with a sit-down lunch where you will be able to share and enjoy your creations (if you cannot stay for lunch, feel free to bring containers to bring food home).

Well, to do so, you need the knowledge and skills to teach them. Join Culinary Nutritionist, Stefanie Bryn Sacks, M.S. and contributor to Power Up, Unleash Your Natural Energy, Revitalize Your Health and Feel 10 Years Younger, (published as The Source in hardcover) by Dr. Woodson Merrell and Kathy Merrell for an introduction on how to support your kids health through proper food choices.

Session One:
Address your personal concerns and gain solutions to make change, learn the basics of navigating the grocery store and keeping a healthy kitchen. Through round table discussion and activities Stefanie will help you acquire the knowledge and skills to shift your food lifestyle and that of your family. You will receive a package of resources to take home.

Session Two:
Through hands-on cooking instruction, Stefanie will introduce you to new ingredients and ways to make foods healthy and delicious for the whole family. Menu to be determined by what class wants to learn. You will receive recipes to take home.
